BBQ Guru Temperature Controls

The BBQ Guru independently manages your smoker while you concentrate on food, friends, and family. Set the temperature on the BBQ Guru’s Digital Control and walk away! No more adjusting frustrating smoker dampers or constantly checking smoker and food temperatures. Start cooking faster because the BBQ Guru stokes your smoker up to temperature quicker than ever. We offer all BBQ Guru models including the: DigiQ DX2, CyberQ WiFi, and PartyQ. Own multiple smokers? Simply transfer the BBQ Guru to your other smokers using a different low-priced Adaptor.

Essentially, the BBQ Guru is a thermostat for your smoker comprised of four parts: a Digital Control, Temperature Probes, an Adaptor, and a Fan. Together these parts monitor your smoker and stoke the fire to maintain your desired temperature – set it and forget it! The DigiQ DX2 and CyberQ WiFi offer the additional benefit of monitoring food temperatures. Click on an option below to purchase a smoker-specific complete kit including the required Adaptor and Fan, purchase components individually, or build a custom kit. Still have questions? BBQ Guru FAQ

The PartyQ includes an integrated 6.5 CFM Fan and is perfect for smaller and well-insulated smokers such as the Weber Smokey Mountain® or Big Green Egg®. The PartyQ DOES NOT include a Food Probe and cannot monitor food temperatures. The DigiQ DX2 works with either a Pit Viper 10CFM Fan, a single Pit Bull 25 CFM Fan, or 2 Pit Bull 25 CFM Fans. The DigiQ DX2 works with virtually any smoker and monitors food temperatures with its included Food Probe. The CyberQ WiFi offers all the features of the DigiQ DX2 but adds 2 additional Food Probes (3 total). The CyberQ WiFi is WiFi capable and allows you to control your smoker from your smartphone or laptop.

If you do not currently own a BBQ Guru then you need a complete kit. Each DigiQ DX2 complete kit includes a Digital Control, Pit Viper 10CFM Fan or Pit Bull 25CFM Fan(s), Pit Probe, Food Probe, and Fan Adaptor(s). Each CyberQ WiFi complete kit includes a Digital Control, Pit Viper 10CFM Fan or Pit Bull 25CFM Fan(s), 1 Pit Probe, 3 Food Probes, and Fan Adaptor(s). Each PartyQ complete kit includes a Digital Control with integrated 6.5 CFM Fan, 1 Pit Probe, and Fan Adaptor. If you already own the correct size Fan or Adaptor for your smoker, then you only need to purchase a Digital Control.

We have made this process quick and easy with our BBQ Guru Product Advisor! Using our advisor, simply select your smoker and we will show you which BBQ Guru complete kits fit that smoker. If you have a custom-built smoker, we recommend using a bulkhead adaptor, which will mount to firebox walls as thick as 2 1/8 inches.

We have made this proThe BBQ Guru Fan should supply all the air entering the firebox. Close any other intakes/dampers fueling the firebox. The exhaust should be used as it normally would be used. Both the Pit Viper 10 CFM and Pit Viper 25 CFM Fans require that you adjust their Slide-Dampers. As a general rule, fully open the Slide-Damper for larger smokers, half open for medium smokers, and 1/3 open for smaller smokers. Big Green Eggs® and other ceramic grills work best when the slide-damper is mostly closed.cess quick and easy with our BBQ Guru Product Advisor ADD HYPERLINK! The BBQ Guru maintains the internal temperature of your smoker by regulating the airflow into the firebox. Attach the included Pit Probe to your cooking chamber grill grate. Attach the smoker-specific Adaptor to your smoker’s air intake and attach the Pit Viper 10CFM Fan or Pit Bull 25CFM Fan to that Adaptor. Connect both the Pit Probe and Fan to the Digital Control, set the Digital Control to your desired temperature, light the fire and walk away! The Digital Control will increase the airflow to raise the smoker temperature or decrease the airflow to lower the smoker temperature.

The BBQ Guru uses forced air to raise your smoker’s internal temperature. Stoking a fire with forced air raises the size and intensity of any fire much faster than stoking the fire with natural airflow.

The PartyQ is powered by 4 AA batteries, while the DigiQ DX2 and CyberQ WiFi are both powered by an included AC Adaptor. Do you tailgate or compete? The DigiQ DX2 and CyberQ WiFi can also use an optional 12V vehicle adaptor or 12V DC battery jumper cord.

The BBQ Guru is water-resistant but NOT waterproof. We recommend covering your Digital Control with a plastic bag if you cook in wet conditions. It is also VERY important that the Fan remain dry. Note - water damage will void your manufacturer’s warranty.

The Ramp Mode setting is designed to prevent you from overcooking food and also keep food warm once it is finished cooking. To use Ramp Mode on the DigiQ DX2 or CyberQ WiFi, turn on Ramp Mode via the settings menu, set your pit and food temperatures, and you are all set! The Digital Control will lower the smoker temperature as your food approaches its finished temperature. Once food reaches its finished temperature, the Digital Control will hold the smoker at your set food temperature. Note – the PartyQ does not offer Ramp Mode.

The Lid Open Detection setting helps your smoker recover faster after you open the smoker lid to check on food. When you open a smoker’s lid two things happen: One, rapid heat loss and two, an increase in airflow to the fire. The two conditions can create an erratic fire that is difficult to control. Lid Open Detection senses the rapid drop in temperature and shut off the Fan. Once you close the lid and the smoker’s internal temperature has stabilized, the Digital Control will cycle the fan again to quickly achieve the desired set temperature. The Open Lid Detection feature can be turned off in the settings menu. Note – the PartyQ does not offer Ramp Mode.
